Action Abounds For Start Of Summer Season At Jackson Speedway

JACKSON – The official start of the summer season featured plenty of action on the historic half-mile Jackson Speedway Saturday night. Battles on the track were frequent and the racing action featured a pair of repeat winners in the second week of the season, which was also Emmet County Night and Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement and Armed Forces Night at the speedway.
The Hornet class opened the evening with Nate Coopman of Mankato, MN, picking up his second feature win of the season and in the IMCA Hobby Stock class, Dustin Larson of Rushmore, MN earned his second consecutive Jackson Speedway feature victory.
A fresh face graced victory lane for the IMCA Northern Sport Modified feature, as Kyle Steuber of Fairmont, MN, claimed the checkered flags. In the 305 Sprint Class, Ryan Voss piloted the 3d to the checkered flags at the end of the feature.
Graettinger, Iowa’s Jake Masters cruised in the IMCA Stock Car feature, as he picked up his first feature of the young season and in the 360 Championship Sprint feature, Billy Boles of Harris, Iowa would pace the field to capture the victory.
The action will gear up at the Jackson Speedway this coming weekend, June 4-5, for the annual University of Okoboji Nights. Friday’s show will be a sprint car special, with a full field of cars on Saturday night.
