- If your reading this, you have probably noticed that I am getting this web-site upkeep down a little better.  Should have figured out how to do this a few years ago, but better late than never!

It is Crunch time fro us at the Jackson Speedway and Holy Cow are we going to be busy from now through the Jackson Nationals - we have got 4 events this week, Thursday Night Demo Derby, Friday Night Street Dance on the Track, Saturday Night Races and the Outlaw Tractor Pullers on Sunday.

Next Week August 8th is the Big Bike Giveaway, August 15th the 1st Annual Charity Night and then August 20, 21 and 22nd is the Jackson Nationals.  There are a lot of details in the Schedule Section of the Web-site, so watch that and I am now posting information on there pretty much daily.

So far this season it seems like things are coming around as far as getting the our car count and grandstand counts back.  I attribute most of this to our race teams and dedicated fans "Helping Promote".  Boy do we have some great race teams!  Thank you!

We are never going to be perfect in race track operation, but as I sit here this morning, I can't help but think we had a great night on Saturday (not so great the week before).  And it also makes me think of how great of a crew I have.  I almost missed the entire show from being Uncle Jon to helping in Concessions (they always tell me it goes better when I am not around!).

I think we have some great promotions leading into the Jackson Nationals.  Normally the weeks against the Knoxville Nationals suck, but I think with our Big Bike Giveaway and Charity Night that this year we are going to pack the house on these two night.  That being said we do need everyone's help in getting the word out on these events.  Tell everyone you can, and if you need flyers - just let me know, we have got schedules of the remaining events at Jackson Speedway.

The Big Bike Night  is a pretty basic promotion.  We are asking our race teams and local businesses to buy a bike (some are doing two) to give away the kids on this night.  For every two bikes that are bought the Jackson Speedway will buy One.

Charity Night - This Night is a fundraising night for all area Charities that are looking to do a Fund Raiser.  Like most Fund Raisers it requires a little effort on the Charities Part, but we tried to keep it as simple and Easy as Possible.

Here is how it works: For each paid $10 paid adult fan that the charity brings to the races, we donate $5 to back to them.  We are tracking how many people attend on for each charity through Vouchers.  What each Charity has to do is to distribute as many vouchers as possible to as many people as they can.  They don't have to sell anything or collect any money, just spread the word about the race and pass our vouchers.

We give each charity as many Charity Race Vouchers as they want.

Until next week,

Jon McCorkell - Jackson Track Promoter
